Scott Pruett and Joey Hand managed a good strategy and lead to the checkered flag at Circuit Of The Americas.  It was a back to back win for Pruett but the first for Hand in the Ford powered No.01 car.  Second place went to the No. 10 Konica Minolta Prototype car that could not match the pace of the first place but achieved an all important runner up spot. Third spot went to the number 90 that barely managed to hold an inspired No. 60 that caught up and then attacked to the checkered flag to finish 3 tenths of a second behind. The race was mostly clean with a few contacts between cars in different classes from where we can highlight the one between car No. 63 the Ferrari of Sweedler and Bell that touched the corner of Barbosa’s No. 5 Corvette causing him to spin. Barbosa quickly recovered and found his way to catch up with the Ferrari and hit him after he put the Corvette on his side in the straight between turns 11 and 12, Race Direction gave the Ferrari a 5 second Stop and Go for the initial contact and a 60 second Stop and Go for the retaliation…

On PC, Bennett/Braun on board car No. 54 finished a little over 25 seconds ahead of second place Junqueira/Cumming on car No. 11 and French/Daly on car No. 38.  For GTLM there was drama when about 2 minutes 30 seconds before the end of the race, the first and second placed Porsches, No. 911 and 912 of Tandy/Pilet and Bergmeister/Bamber came into the pits for a minor fuel splash in order to finish the race giving the advantage to the BMW of Auberlen/Werner No.25 to move ahead and take the win with the Ferrari of No. 62 of Fisichella/Kaffer following 2 seconds behind. Third place still went to Porsche No. 911 of Tandy/Pilet.

In GTD, the winner was the Viper No. 33 of Keating/Bleekemolen barele over a second ahead of the BMW No. 97 of Marsal/Palttala and No. 48 of Hasselvon/Moltke.
