The 12 Hours of Sebring promise to be an absolutely exciting race due to the high level of competition among the participating teams filled with driver talent and experience. This will be the 64th annual race in this iconic circuit in Florida that marks the 2nd race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportCar Championship and the Tequila Patrón North American Cup.  49 crews are ready for the challenge where defending champions Joao Barbosa, Christian Fittipaldi and Filipe Albuquerque will give their all to take their Action Express Racing number 5 machine to the highest step of the podium again.

Scott Pruet will be joining the crew of the second Action Express Racing Team car No. 31 as well as Rubbens Barrichello will be racing again in car No. 10 from the Konica Minolta Team strengthening the Chevrolet cars that will go for the win.  On the other hand, Mazda will have experienced Japanese female driver Keiko Ihara joining their crew and of course the Delta Wing machine will also have Katherine Ledge behind the steering wheel of their No. 0 unique Machine.

Daytona 24hour race winners will also try and go for the 2nd in a row for Honda, Tequila Patrón’s No. 2 car driven by Ed Brown, Scott Sharp, Pipo Derani and Johannes Van Overbeek along with car No. 60 Tire Kingdom from Michael Shank’s Racing in another Honda Powered Ligier.

On the Prototype Challenge class it’ll be very interesting to see who takes control after regulation changes ahead of this race will allow them to have more powerful engines as well as traction control that will definitely make them faster but since all the cars have the same Chevrolet engines and ORECA chasis it’ll be up to the teams and drivers to see who comes first.

Corvette is set to try and dominate again after their strong showing at this year’s Daytona 24 Hour race. Porsche, Ferrari, Ford and BMW will surely not make it easy for them, Porsche bringing an all star line up with Le Mans 24 hour race winners from 2015 Nick Tandy and Earl Bamber joining in the No.911 car…. And in the GT Daytona category all eyes will be on the 44 Audi GT3 Machine from Magnus Racing that will try to win against 19 other GTD competitors including Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, Dodge Viper and Audi R8’s.

Coverage of the event will be provided by Fox Sports 1 and internationally by Imsa.tv.
